Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Hendersonville Train Depot as a wonderful, free attraction, especially for families and train enthusiasts. The intricate model train displays and the walk-through caboose are consistently highlighted as major draws. While the limited operating hours and occasional lack of engagement from some club members are noted downsides, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive and highly recommended for a fun, educational outing.

"Great place to take the boys for a fun time at no cost, unless you want to leave a donation. There's no hard -sell to make a donation either. It's never mentioned - there's just boxes sitting around that say "donations" on it. Lots and lots of trains in all the rooms, with each train belonging to an individual who is there, remotely running their train, to the thrill of the kids (and adults) watching. After going through all the rooms of trains there's an outdoor garden train setup, and when you leave the building and head next door, it's a caboose! Everybody climbed aboard and a gentleman told the kiddos all about it. All in all, everyone had a great time at no cost! 😁"

"This place is awesome if you love trains and especially model trains. You could spend hours looking at all the model trains and how much work that has went into building these and making them run. It is part of the local train club. They are only open 2 days out of the week, but it is free to park and free to go inside. The only downside I saw,, was my wife went in there and not one person said a word to you, and was looking at you like you did not belong. I understand they do not work there, they are part of the club, but I feel they should have engaged with the public at the very least to see if you had any questions. It was a good time overall."
