"Crooked Lake is one the cleanest and highest elevated lakes in Central to South Florida. On its East side is Breezy Hill at over 300 feet in elevation. Of the many miles of shoreline most of the southern end is wild with very few houses. It is bounded on the West by Crooked Lake Prairie, a Polk County Nature Preserve. On the South End is Little Crooked Lake, which is accessible by boat, through a canal, when the water levels are normal. There is a boat ramp there. The Water from Crooked Lake seeps through to the west to feed the Peace River and to the West to the Kissimmee River.
