Navigating the Terrain

Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park offers semi-rugged hiking trails that require athleticism and dexterity. Not ideal for those with mobility issues. Be prepared for steep, winding roads leading into and out of the park. Fill up on potable water before entering, as it's not available at campsites.

Repelling and Anchors

While advertised as a rappelling area, visitors note a lack of anchor points. You'll need to bring your own equipment for rappelling. Ensure any trees you consider for tie-offs are healthy and sturdy, as many are dead or too small.

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park for its serene beauty, dramatic landscape changes, and refreshing shaded trails, making it a great escape from the city. The friendly staff and clean campgrounds are also highlights. However, some are disappointed by the lack of rappelling anchor points and the steep, winding access roads.

"It was so relaxing! The employees were very friendly and informative about things going on around them. We did some hiking up in the horse shoe area and it was worth the climb. My niece and I cooked over the fire, enjoyed some needed time away from the city and that’s what we got."

L Hardman

"Overall really nice and quiet, genuinely nice and caring owners. Lots of semi-rugged hiking (not walking) trails requiring some athleticism and dexterity- not for disabled people. Although very dog-friendly, the areas not paved contain many goatheads, so beware. Can easily accommodate large RV's and travel trailers, though the road down and out is quite tortuous and steep. Sites have electric and water with a communal dump station with tank flush, but no potable water, so fill your tank before leaving your site.
Would revisit in the future if the opportunity presented itself."

Tim Diehl

"I loved this place. It’s an easy, quick drive from the OKC metro and absolutely worth it. $10 entrance fee to the state park—totally fair for what you get.

The terrain shift is wild: you're driving along flat land, then suddenly drop into a hidden valley and boom—everything changes. It's serene, scenic, and unexpectedly stunning.

The trails are shaded and cool, especially refreshing on a hot day. Great views, well-kept paths, and plenty to explore. Campsites looked popular, and there’s even a pool (separate fee, but a good option for families with kids).

I'll definitely be coming back. This spot is a hidden gem."
