"One of my favorite environments in the Everglades, this is a prime location to see all 3 kinds of mangroves (red, black, and white). The path is newly refurbished and one also has a part of the trail overlooking West Lake.
It will have a somewhat sulfuric and salty smell but there aren't too many insects. There are also some public bathrooms, picnic tables, and a boat launch at the trailhead."
James
"New boardwalk is reeealy nice and the view through the mangrove also by the water was pretty. They even two benches over the water, which paired with the breeze and the sun was a nice end to our visit. One part did smell like old gym socks where the breeze died down."
