What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Heritage Park is widely praised as a beautiful and immersive historical experience, with visitors particularly enjoying the authentic steam train and the charm of the recreated village. While some note the absence of modern play structures and the presence of port-a-potties, the park's potential for growth and its scenic riverfront location are highly anticipated.
"This is an beautiful area with lots of room to run and play. There is a nice paved path that would be great for little ones to ride bikes or scooters. The area gives the feeling of walking right next to the river but it is a shallower area and it isn't as fast moving, so it is that little bit safer for the children.
There are a few high spots with a big drop down to the water. On one of these rocking spots I did see some broken glass, probably from glass bottles. Other then this one area, away from the trail, the park was very clean.
There currently (2024) are not any play structures for children, which does go with the nature playground theme of the area, but I hope that in the future they do add a true nature playground. There are lots of big rocks that would be fun for children to climb on.
Currently there is only a port-a-potty for a restroom."

"I’m very excited about this park. My family used to explore this area off the river well before the city began developing it. It is so beautiful, with one area having large mature trees. There are both man made features and natural features. There are nesting osprey too. I think that When it is finally connected to the main green belt it will be more populated. I hope it will remain respected. Very excited to see this park grow and become even more beautiful."

"This Idaho Falls Rotary Club project has added a beautiful park on the Southern end of Snake River Landing. There are vast expanses of grass with a creek running into multiple ponds. You can also recreate on the river with SUP or float tubes. There is more to come but this is a great place to recreate outdoors in Idaho Falls."
