"A beautiful place with ruins and little gardens throughout. There are some nice trails some of which lead to the river. Seems like a great place to take your dog, too. They have yoga and meditations here during the summer and I believe concerts as well."

"Fun spot with great trails and the river was an absolute blast of our kiddo. Would not recommend the lower trails if you have mobility issues we had to turn back a few times because we had a stroller"

Exploring the Historic Ruins
Many visitors, including photographers, find the ruins to be an enchanting backdrop. The interplay of stone, greenery, and light creates a magical atmosphere, especially during the golden hours of sunrise and sunset. While the ruins themselves are the main draw, the surrounding area also provides lovely spots for quiet contemplation or a leisurely stroll.
It's worth noting that while the ruins are accessible, some of the surrounding terrain might require careful footing. Always be mindful of your surroundings and wear appropriate footwear, especially if you plan to explore beyond the immediate vicinity of the main structures.
Navigating the Trails and River Access
For those seeking a more rugged experience, the lower trails closer to the river can be particularly rewarding, offering a sense of immersion in the natural environment. However, these paths can become mucky and less accessible, especially after rain or if you're navigating with a stroller. It's highly recommended to wear sturdy, water-resistant shoes if you plan to explore these areas.
If you prefer a smoother, more accessible walk, stick to the main paved or well-maintained gravel paths, which are ideal for a leisurely stroll or a jog. The park's layout allows for various loop combinations, so you can tailor your hike to your desired length and difficulty. Remember to bring water, especially on warmer days, and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the park's natural landscapes.

Beyond the playground, the park's trails and open spaces provide ample room for kids to explore and burn energy. The river access also offers opportunities for supervised water play during warmer months, adding another layer of enjoyment for younger visitors.
