Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the National Elk Refuge for its stunning Teton views and the incredible opportunity to see large elk herds, especially during winter sleigh rides. While some note that elk may be absent in summer, the breathtaking landscapes and chances to spot other wildlife like coyotes and birds still make it a worthwhile visit. A few reviewers wished for more informational stops and better speed control on refuge roads.

"Entry was from East Broadway Rd about a mile from Jackson downtown area. The elks seem to have gone (up the hills) for the spring summer when I arrived (May 12th), but there's still goats (rams?) and some animals scurrying about. What was enjoyable for me was the view as I drive up the road. I can view the Tetons Range from here, it was awesome and there were not many cars around."

Chet

"Wonderful park! There is a dirt road that you can walk, bike or drive on. You can see plenty of animals, especially in the morning or at night. Even if you don’t the landscape is breathtaking. Highly recommend this free activity."

"Our tour guide was Michael and he made our trip so enjoyable. We had a party of 6 with one of us needing extra help with mobility. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We highly recommend!"
