Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Liberty Theater Jerome for its unique blend of history, film memorabilia, and spooky allure. Many appreciate that it's free to explore the historic silent film auditorium upstairs, which is described as a 'time capsule.' The quirky gift shop downstairs offers unique souvenirs, though some find prices a bit high. It's a highly recommended stop for film buffs, history enthusiasts, and those seeking a touch of the paranormal.

"If you love spooky/horror related stuffs, you’ll love this place! It’s got a whole bunch of fun statues to look at, plus souvenirs if you’re looking for those. AND it gives you some historical insights- the theatre on the second floor has a movie about Jerome’s history on loop, plus some cool info about the original Liberty Theatre projectors closer to the back of the theatre.
Do be warned though: that theatre IS haunted (don’t believe me? take a closer look at the pic of Freddy Krueger in the seat…)."

"Crazy cool silent theater from 1907. You can wander up the stairs and view a thirty-minute historical film about the theater and Jerome that plays on a loop. The gift shop downstairs has fun souveniers and clothing. I was excited to see a Sherlock Jr. poster on display because I'm a huge Buster Keaton fan and that was the first silent film I ever enjoyed in a theater with life musical accompaniment. Great spot to check out for film buffs or history buffs."

"Jerome (a historic haunted copper mining town) was definitely my fave part of my AZ adventure trip.
And I went to all the canyons, Sedona etc. My dad and I took this trip and he said well we’ve gotta go to Prescott (we’ve got some family there) which means we have to go through Jerome. Man it sure is a cool town. Cool because it isn’t pretentious and gentrified. You have to slow down and take in the history and scenery.

This shop was by far my favorite in Jerome. If you want history, chill, non pretentious Jerome vibes - this is the shop for you. The shop came long after the upstairs Liberty Theater. It’s historic and has some cool history if you take the time to read about it prior to going. The theater never converted to running sound. It’s a gem of a cinema and as Cinematreasures.org says “The auditorium part became a virtual time capsule for years.”

I would’ve liked to stay longer and catch some of the history films showing upstairs. Walking up and rounding the corner is cool. Lots of good iconic movie memorabilia. It’s just like if you enjoy film and history there you go.

Chris helped me at checkout and let me know I can donate to the theater, and I happily did- absolutely worth it to me.

*Owner feedback : Def think the owners need a Venmo & Zelle QR code in window and at counter. I’m one of those people who donates just bc I want to even if I don’t have time to stay and shop. :)

I picked up a Zoetrope (early optical eye toys that create the illusion of movement). These things are like a pre film staple IMO.

This shop is THE only place from all my stops from Scottsdale/Phoenix, Lake Powell, Antelope canyon & Grand Canyon (to name a few) where I picked t shirts!

They simply called to me. Makes me think of a west of days gone by. Motorcycles, music, easy living. Def visit this place if you’re lucky enough to be traveling through Jerome.

Last thing- I feel like a teen bc I’ve literally worn this Javelina (similar to wild boar) shirt nonstop, since getting back home to Houston! It’s my fave trip tee."
