What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Oak Hill Cemetery offers a historically rich and often peaceful environment for remembrance, with some visitors praising its dedicated upkeep and the legacy of its caretakers. However, potential visitors should be aware of mixed reviews regarding maintenance and significant concerns about inconsistent headstone policies, which have caused distress for some families.
"We have several family members at this cemetery. Tim is very helpful and straight forward about everything. His wife and himself do a great job at making sure it’s kept up."
Lisa Greer
"This is a beautiful cemetery. My great-grand-uncle True McKinney maintained for many years until his own passing around 15 years ago, and I recently visited to pay respects to all the people whose loved ones he ensured had a dignified and beautiful place to visit their own lost loved ones.
I was struck by what a time span there is between plots... some with very, very old markers, some too new for their markers to even be placed. The cemetery had well-maintained footpaths to ensure one could search for their loved ones plot without treading on the plots of where others lay. It had such a reverent, peaceful atmosphere. I like to think, though True isn't buried here, that his spirit and deep concern for a dignified and respectful place for those who've passed on to be remembered still lingers."

"This is a nice, historic cemetery that is being well taken care of by Mr. Timothy McKinney. He is passionate about the upkeep and is very concerned for the well being of the loved ones buried there."
