"Loved this place! Took my 7 year old and 14 year old and we had a really good time.
Three cool things I think we liked the most:
1) the scavenger hunt (although I did hafta lug the heavy stepping stools about so my 7 year old could participate)
2) the wall that shows the secret language hobos used and gave a backstory on hobos was neat (and they throw a few of the glyphs around the museum, and my gals liked deciphering them)
3) the kids immensely enjoyed the train simulator.

"History and reproduction of local trains and villages. One carefully designed layout authentically recreates Carter County, Tennessee and Avery County, North Carolina trains, tracks and villages. Great historical exhibits, a short movie, a shop with photos of Tweetsie and other local trains and experts who explain the exhibits and answer questions. There was live music the day I visited."

"My father, my college-age son, and I made a spur of the moment trip on Friday after lunch. I wish we'd gone sooner! There is so much to see, and no matter how many times you go back for another look, you will see details you missed before. So much love and care went into the amazing displays, and it shows. There are so many friendly people there who are obviously passionate about the subject of railroading and local railroad history. Even adults and kids who aren't that interested in trains, will love the interesting scenes going on in the models. We will be coming back for sure!"
