Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Civil War Museum Kenosha for its immersive dioramas, detailed focus on Midwestern soldiers, and engaging exhibits. The affordable pricing and friendly docents are frequently highlighted as positives. Some find the 360° theater's format challenging, but overall, it's considered a worthwhile historical experience.

"A mesmorizing experience. Full of endless information, wonderful visual effects. Spent four hours but didn't finish & left with a firm understanding & joy that I'll be back to finish; be it one or two more times. The best $10 I laid out."

Jean-Kim-Bud Kaczmarek

"It's a good museum with plenty to see for free as well as a paid exhibit. During warmer months, there's a patio open so you can experience the whole of the view without windows in the way.

If you're visiting in broad daylight..........I know it's a bit out of the way to do this but trust me: walk to the building entrance on 2nd Avenue. That's the side without the parking lot. Go through the entrance and immediately go to the dark exhibit on the left. Yes it looks really really dark and kind of scary because you can't see much yet. As your eyes slowly adjust to the darkness, more of the details of the exhibit are revealed bit by bit and it makes the whole thing so much more impactful."

CJ Carver (Sage)

"This museum focuses on Union Soldiers from this region, and tells their story with life-size dioramas, talking mannequins, and a well made short film - Seeing the Elephant."
