What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Rotary Beach Bugge Beach is a beloved spot praised for its natural beauty, offering excellent opportunities for beachcombing, wildlife viewing, and exploring tidal pools. Visitors appreciate the scenic views and the chance to connect with nature, though some note the need for swim shoes and caution regarding jellyfish.
"Great beach with sandy and rocky areas. For swimming it has a nice sand entrance but swim shoes are recommended. There is some great snorkeling here especially at lower tides, though visibility can vary during the summer because of algae bloom. The water is usually calm with very small waves unless there is wind because it does face the open waters to the south so if the wind is up it can get quite a bit of surge. There are two parking lots at this beach. At the first parking lot if you are coming from the north there is a picnic table and bear proof garbage can and there are bathrooms at the second parking lot. The view from the beach is awesome with Bald Eagles, Seagulls and Ravens flying over head. You can see Annette Island, Pennock Island, Craving Island and if the air is really clear you can see Prince of Wales Island far in the distance. Many times you can see ships as they head to Seattle. Whales have also been seen swimming out in the narrows in front of the beach. The water is very safe from any harming sea creatures except for the occasional Lions Mane (a red jellyfish) that tend to be more prevalent in the summer months. So if you see red stay away. There sting is moderately painful and can last for a couple of hours. Meat tenderizer or apple cider vinegar has been said to help. There is also great beach combing here for those who like to look for treasures or peer into tide pools. All and all this is a beautiful beach to visit."

"Some of my fondest memories as a child are spending time at Buggy Beach with my grandmother. Suffice to say, after returning home many decades later, this destination was on my short list of places to visit and it did not disappoint.
Buggy Beach is way better than it ever had been, at any time that I had been there, before I departed in 1986. I really love how they added the public restrooms, picnic area, and the tidal pool is just super cool, although I have heard that maybe it is not the best place to let your kids go swimming.
Anyway, I loved it, then when I went with my wife and daughter, they loved it. We went several times with different family members, as it was always going to be a great place to stop and hosts some gorgeous views, for those who like to take pictures."

"Been a beach we have gone to for over 60 years. I love that they drain it and clean out all the yucky stuff and then let the seawater back in. Love seeing children having fun, listening to their laughter. The play area was a great idea. I miss the tree we use to swing out on rope ,drop in water and the diving board. But, for safety reasons it was removed. Happy everytime we go there. Great family time for us all!🙏❤️ Grateful for having this beach thank you Mr Bugge for leaving it for us to enjoy. God is Great, to show us the beauty on our earth."
