Reviews Summary
Guests rave about the Inn at Long Trail's authentic Irish charm, cozy atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality. The hearty complimentary breakfast and lively pub with live music are consistent highlights. "Want to start by saying we sincerely LOVED this place but also wanna be honest about what could be better. Want to be clear that my husband and I loved this place and will definitely be back because the good outweighed the not even bad but could be better. Want to be transparent about what people might not like because reviews are for people to make a decision about if it’s for them.
We stayed two nights. The cozy Irish feel from the second you walk in had me instantly hooked. I don’t even want to try to describe it because trust me if you love rustic Irish cottage you will love it. We stayed on the 3rd floor. I think the second floor has larger windows to look out at the gorgeous views. Very simple rooms, no TV but WiFi worked fine despite what other reviews have said. Room was very clean, simple, nice shower, piping a little slow but plenty of hot water. Beds ehhhh, these were not as comfortable as we hoped for, springy, but sufficient if you’re not picky about comfort.
Breakfast included, no joke was absolutely amazing and the breakfast dining room is beyond cozy. Waitstaff was super attentive and kind. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them!
McGrath’s pub, love, love, love the Irish feel and beyond delicious food. Beef stew definitely our favorite (which we also noticed everybody orders) but shepherd’s pie and spinach salad with grilled chicken were also delicious. We didn’t try them but nachos looked amazing. Basic beers, wine and cocktails, Guinness and whiskey are the main attractions. I’m picky and would have loved more options (seltzers, teas even a Moscow mule). But the pub feel was like none other with live Irish music. The band was incredible.
FYI the fireside rooms which have a tv and fireplace I believe are detached from the main inn. Kind of like motel style. Not positively sure but I think you have to walk outside to get into the main inn (which is a very short walk outside).
The free shuttle into town was also a bonus, so close to everything and way better than paying for Ubers or making a drive!
Really, really love this place and grateful for our cozy stay!"

"I stayed here on a Tuesday/Weds while hiking the Long Trail. Although the Pub was closed, I still enjoyed my stay. Package delivery, laundry, plenty to eat! I took the free bus to Rutland twice and Killington once. Amanda was the daytime innkeeper and she really went out of her way to ensure I had a great stay. Added bonus; I had the pleasure of meeting Stokli the best dog in all of VT! Many thanks!"

"We stayed here while skiing at Killington and absolutely loved the authenticity of the Inn. Everything and everybody was authentic, friendly and highly accommodating. Loved hanging out in the truly rustic lodge playing checkers and chatting with other guests. The breakfasts were great. The Irish pub at the Inn is a real-deal and their pub grub is outstanding. Can't wait to come back!!"
