What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Pioneer Cemetery for its exceptional cleanliness and serene atmosphere, especially considering its desert location. The well-maintained grounds and newly paved walkways enhance the experience, making it a peaceful place for reflection and historical exploration. While the desert environment presents maintenance challenges, the dedication to upkeep is highly appreciated.
"Ray’s father bought the cemetery in 1974, keeping this wonderful gem in the family and kept up as such. Reasonably priced plots in a beautifully kept very well manicured resting ground is hard to come across these days but this place is all of those things and more! Fast forward to now (because that’s how time works 😄) you’ll find Mountain View Cemetery among many other wonderful attributes, lives up to its name - which isn’t always the case with Mountain View named cemeteries. All of the gravestones are appropriately (as tradition) facing the head east. Newly paved walkways to easily navigate through the serene massive acres large property. On the I think south west side of the cemetery you will find the “Pioneer” area. These graves were ones that were originally in the very first cemetery grounds located downtown Kingman but were later moved by city planners to the place you should visit today. I always say you can tell a town by how well they keep their cemeteries. Under this rule of thumb Kingman is one of the best places to be."

"Very clean cemetery. In an area with little water, not 1 weed was seen. The past few years we've been in a drought and the temperature has been tough for the established trees. I have heard about water bills being over 8k a month. So for those visiting, remember that you're in the desert and grass is well, not a necessity nor worth the big bucks to keep it green.."

"We visited Kingman since I have pioneer ancestors who settled there, some of which are buried at the Mountain View Cemetery. We found that the lady who helped us was especially concerned with meeting our needs and finding grave sites. It is also obvious she is working very hard to keep the cemetery in excellent condition in not too easy circumstances."
