"This was a nice surprise. The nature trail was enjoyable. The architecture definitely is a major draw. Some really cool areas to walk through. My kids felt parts reminded them of the abandoned buildings in Jurassic Park but honestly I thought that added to the aesthetic.
This definitely isn't a slam-packed nature trail. We did everything possible in about 1 and half hours taking it slowly. That being said, I would recommend checking them out. I will say I do not envy the employees. They clearly do not have a lot of staff which is understandable.
My kids also really liked the bamboo Forest. Certainly not something you expect to see in East Tennessee, but it was all around pretty groovy."

"Took a walk with my daughter through the visitors center to get the history of Knoxville Botanical Gardens and Arboretum before following along with the paper guided map tour of their grounds. It's a beautiful relaxing walk! Took about an hour. Be mindful when you visit not to just view the side of the gardens that are in the area on the side of the street where you park. The grounds behind and to the left of the visitor center are beautiful and missed by many. 😞
My mindset of the experience... "Where art meets nature". 😁"

"Best Arboretum! So special & magical !! Many paved and dirt walking paths from easy flat walking to more moderate, some hills. Areas for every level. Accessible.
There are secret gardens throughout! Just like a fairy tale. 🧚♂️ The original house still stands, built-in 1786. It's a fascinating property. A once huge nursery. Stone walls flow throughout. It's hard to believe one is so close to houses and town, when nestled in this world. One day is not enough for me to cover all the gardens and trails. Oh, and there's a gorgeous bamboo garden you can walk through, like a cave!!"
