What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
PGA West Stadium Course offers a challenging and visually stunning golf experience, with many praising its immaculate conditions and unique Pete Dye design. However, some visitors have expressed frustration with early morning delays due to groundskeeping and the premium price point not always aligning with a seamless experience.
"I had an early 6:18 AM tee time booked, only to be notified upon arrival that it had been pushed to 6:38 AM because the grounds crew was running late. While frustrating, I was willing to overlook it—until we actually started playing.
From the first tee box onward, the course was nowhere near ready for play. The first hole was filled with groundskeepers actively working, forcing us to wait repeatedly. We moved to the second hole, assuming things would open up, but it was more of the same. Groundskeepers were on nearly every fairway and every single green, and we had to wait for them to clear before taking almost every shot.
For a course that charges premium rates, this was absolutely unacceptable. If your time is valuable, or if you expect to play at a consistent pace without constant interruptions, this is not the place to book. The entire experience felt rushed on their end and dragged out on ours.
For the amount of money PGA West charges, the course should be fully prepped and ready for the day—especially for the earliest tee times. Unfortunately, that was far from the case. Highly, highly recommend avoiding this course if you want a smooth round or any respect for your scheduled time."

"The Stadium Course has been on bucket list forever and it totally exceeded my expectations. Course conditions were outstanding. Remarkable given the traffic.
As expected course architecture was crazy penal (in a great, fun way). The scale of the mounds and humps is staggering. The bunkering is truly unique and tee shots feel unsettling as they either include dramatic risk/reward elements or awkward, obfuscated landing areas.
Staff were great.
One of the most enjoyable golf experiences I’ve had."

"Incredible course with stunning views and one of the most challenging layouts I’ve played in a while. Every hole forces you to think and rewards smart play. The only negative was a clueless two-some behind us who kept hitting into our group, and the marshals didn’t do anything about it. Still, the course itself is top tier and worth every bit of the challenge."
