California Sport Fishing Permit and Day Use Permit at the Lafayette Reservoir
I want to fish at the Reservoir, and my son is under 15. Is he free, and does it mean that I can fish with him for no money at all? Also, does the day use permit at the Lafayette Reservoir omit the fee for those under 16? Any and all feedback is much appreciated. Thanks!
Where are your favorite fishing spots?
Ideally east bay area as I am in Oakland. I usually go to the jetty in Alameda, or the Lafayette Reservoir. Looking for new places that ideally I could bring a chair and small cooler without too much trouble (i have a wagon). But am open to anything new really. Thanks!

Plenty of parking available, though a fee applies. Arrive early on busy days.

Spot for a gentle hike and picnic?
I'm visiting family in Walnut Creek this weekend. We are looking for a nice, dog friendly spot for a picnic and possibly a hike - someplace shady and not too crowded. Prefer in or near Walnut Creek - but if you have a great suggestion further, do share. Thanx in advance.
