Lake Ozark, MO - Should I play The Cove GC or The Ridge GC?

Golf in Lake of the Ozarks
I am planning a boys trip in the Ozarks this summer and wanted to get some golf recommendations. There’s 8 of us going and all are single digit handicaps. The only courses I know about are the ones at Big Cedar Lodge. Are those worth the price? What other courses in the area…
💰 Value for Money?
Prices are reasonable ($82.00 mentioned), but consider the difficulty.
👍 Friendly Staff (Mostly)
Staff are efficient and helpful, with some nice touches like cart delivery.
The Oaks Golf Course - Lake of the Ozarks
Perfect day for it. That my 2nd favorite course at the lake. 1st is Osage national. I haven’t had the pleasure to play kinderhook yet but will hopefully this fall when it’s cheaper.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Cove Golf Course Lodge is praised for its beautifully landscaped and challenging layout, featuring dramatic elevation changes and scenic lake views. Golfers appreciate the friendly and efficient staff, though some find the course unforgiving and note that clubhouse amenities can be limited with early closing times.
"Beautifully landscaped and challenging course. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had to stay on the cart paths only due to the excessive rain the week before so it made for a long day but it was worth the sacrifice. I highly recommend playing here."

"Played Osage National the day before and imo this was tougher. The 1st hole is a flat drive and then straight downhill to a tough looking green . Water on the right sand traps on the left and a downhill lie going into it . The elevation changes are severe which I loved . Water on 1/2 of the holes . 2 holes (par 3 ) all carry over water and the view was incredible. The fairways were good for the most part but if you get to far off it’s sketchy grass. This is a course that you will lose balls on and probably not score great because of sight lines are hard to pick out the 1st time out . The greens were firm and they just watered them. The staff was friendly and prices not crazy . Good pics of the lake and a way different feel than Osage National more wooded. 82.00 to play . I’d come back and replay it and the try the ridge course."

"The course was in good shape. The cart path needs work. It's a tough course for a high handicapper!
Their staff was VERY friendly and they were working like a well oiled machine, keeping things moving and efficient.
More courses should bring a cart right to the car, it saved us time and was a nice touch.
There is a beer cart, and they even had coolers with them. Another time saver!
I liked this course, and really like how efficient the staff was, but I'm going to need to up my game to play here again. Carrying 170 to be safe on a couple of par 3s didn't work out for me at all."
