What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Conner Preserve offers a rugged, natural escape with opportunities for birdwatching and unique airfield views. Visitors appreciate the wild beauty but caution about the intense summer heat, overgrown trails, and lack of amenities. It's a place for the prepared adventurer seeking a less-manicured nature experience.
"2 separate loops
1-2 days worth of trails
No amenities
Medium difficulty during summer as there isn't really shade, so bring plenty of water, but as you enter the park, you are greeted by small airplanes doing fantastical stunts and maneuvers. The main trails are flat, but during wet season, watch for swampy areas. There are no real amenities to speak of from what I could see so be conscious of that. All in all a good large park for a few days of fun treking in the swamps of mid-florida"

"Great flatland views. Very hot with no shade in the summer. Half of the trail was soft loamy sand, the other half overgrown with 3-4' of grass. Be prepared to get dirty and bring lots of water, bug spray, and sun screen. Not suitable for kids. Many large ant hills along the way."

"Great nature getaway! The trails are not paved and not too easy to find. From the gravel road head to the sign that says 3 and then hang a left. You will be welcomed by amazing birds and butterflies! Warblers, Hawks, and woodpeckers to name a few. Just watch out for the red anthills! I accidentally stood in one as I was watching a red shouldered hawk."
