Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Lewiston Mound Museum for its rich local history, knowledgeable volunteers, and charming setting in an old church. Many appreciate the chronological layout and the fascinating insights into the town's steamship era. While small, it's considered a worthwhile stop for those interested in local heritage.
"My husband and I visited the museum on our vacation in August. The museum volunteer was polite and friendly. There is a lot of history in this little museum which is inside an old church. We liked how they had it laid out starting from the beginning to now. They also had historical items that were found or donated to the museum. There isn’t any parking, so you just have to park on the street. There isn’t a fee but you can make a donation if you’d like to."

"A great little museum with so much local history. I had no idea 10's of thousands of people per day disembarked from steamships at Lewiston during the early 20th century. Spent the afternoon talking to Tom who has so much knowledge about Lewiston."

"Fascinating museum that's in an old style church. Definitely recommend if you're in the area even though it's small it has history."
