What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Boone's Cave Park is praised for its scenic river trails, impressive ancient Cottonwood tree, and free admission, making it a great spot for families and dog owners. However, visitors note that the cave itself has limited access and that the numerous stairs can be challenging.
"Decided to explore the area with my dog. The park has multiple sets of stairs that lead to the cave that overlooked the Yadkin River. At the bottom you can walk along the river and it leads to a few different trails. One trail, Cottonwood, leads you way back along the river to a huge Cottonwood tree that is probably 5 or 6 feet wide and over 150 tall. If I recall correctly it's like 125 years old or more. There are multiple other trails that are clean, wide and easy to walk on. It was a great place to spend the afternoon."

"Loved the trails alongside the river here. There's a lot of steps (not the ones pictured)leading down to the cave site and some trails could be considered more difficult, but great place to take the family and take in nature."
Heather Morris
"Lots of rain lately so the river was still a bit high and very muddy but the woods area were nice. I imagine it's super nice when there aren't flood waters. Boone's Cave isn't much of a cave, more a deep overhang, but enough to shelter several people. An ungodly number if steps to get down to it, then I discovered the walking trail that came in from the opposite direction of the stairs and parking lot where my car was... oh well"
