What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Brights Zoo for its surprising variety of animals, affordability, and friendly atmosphere, making it a treasure for families. While parking can be tight and some attractions have extra costs, the overall experience is highly recommended for its unique exhibits and engaging activities.
"Visited the Brights Zoo in September 2025. Found out about it on the news, about the spotless giraffe born there. So stopped by while visiting the area.
Pleasantly surprised by the size of the zoo and the amount of animals, for a privately run zoo. Besides the giraffes, many other animals to see, including white buffalo, white crocodile, penguins, river otters, and different kinds of monkeys. There are gibbons, but no other great apes that I saw. I also did not notice any large carnivores, such as bears or big cats. They did have some fox and jackals.
The giraffe feeding and train ride were additional cost to admission. Both were worth it!
There was not much parking available. Maybe they have more parking elsewhere? If not, this place could fill up parking fast. I think there were 3 spots open when I arrived, and it was a weekday.
Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Brights Zoo in Tennessee!"

"Have gone three times in three years and it always is the same, a lot of fun and the cutest animals to see. Saw a new baby giraffe that wasn’t there last time and the capybara’s are a hit. Got our squished pennies and it was not crowded, even though it was the last day of the kids fall break. Even got to see a praying mantis while we were waiting to get a quick snack."

"Love Brights zoo! Very cool and not anywhere near as expensive or as busy as the bigger zoos. Can feed the giraffes for $3, feed birds for $3 and can feed goats. The train ride was cool, not very long but kids thought it was cool. Has a snack shack and the prices are very reasonable. We come about every other year-my kids have been on field trips. I would prefer this zoo over Knoxville. They also have wheelchairs and motorized wheelchairs you can rent as well as scooters."
