What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the Saylesville Friends Meetinghouse for its historic charm, peaceful atmosphere, and welcoming community. The 18th-century architecture and the opportunity for quiet reflection during Sunday worship are frequently highlighted. However, some visitors note that the upkeep of the rear cemetery can be inconsistent, requiring personal effort for those visiting graves.
"I visited during Great Road Day. This 18th century place of worship in Lincoln, RI includes unique architectural features, rare artifacts, and a pair of well-maintained cemeteries. The meeting is accessible to all via a ramp at the main entrance with plenty of seating inside and has excellent lighting for a historic building. Since this property belongs to an active religious organization, tours are not often available. The women who I met were friendly and knowledgeable."

"Spiritual place within a charming 1704 meeting house. Sunday worship gathering at 10:30 am, with masks and PLENTY of space for social distancing. A peaceful setting in which to partake of an hour of quiet contemplative/meditative reflection and worship amongst a small community of fellow dedicated worshippers - (Friends)."

"Please...someone cut the grass in the cemetery. This is the 3rd consecutive Memorial Day I've visited my grandparent's grave and had to bring my own grass clippers and trowel.
The grass is always cut in front of the meeting house and there is no lock on the fence door leading to the cemetery out back."
