What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the immersive drive-through safari and the variety of activities in the walk-through park, especially for families. The animals are generally seen as well-cared for with ample space. Some find food prices high and occasionally wish for more visible activity from certain animals during peak heat.
"This place is great. Kiss loved safari drive through ans got to see animals. It was hot so some were hiding in the shade but we were still able to see. After drive through, we went to the park are and there is more things to see and do. They have petting and feeding opportunities there. They have merry-go-round and a few other small rides (great for kids 3-7). They have 2 big water slides (have to be over 48 inches) and a splash pad with smaller rides for smaller kids.
I remember making a day out of it. Our family had a great time there."

"Very large establishment and super fun experience. I’m especially happy that the animals had more than enough space to roam and all of them had considerably more things to keep them happy. They even welcome more animals into the world on their very own land. I was excited to witness the lions, zebras, chimpanzees happy and in their own environments. The chimps were playing with the many different builds they provided from them, and the lions were playing and having a great time, they even welcomed 2 new members in August of their year! Very interesting and wonderful experience for all of us."

"Lion Country Safari was an unforgettable adventure! From the moment we entered the drive-through safari, it felt like we were transported to another world. Seeing zebras, giraffes, rhinos, and even lions up close from the comfort of our car was both thrilling and educational. The animals looked well-cared for, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
After the safari, we enjoyed the walk-through park, which had even more animals, interactive exhibits, a fun splash park for the kids, and a petting zoo. There were also rides and concessions, making it easy to spend the whole day there."

The Drive-Through Safari Experience
While the drive-through is a highlight, some visitors have noted that animals can be less active during the hottest parts of the day, often seeking shade. To maximize your chances of seeing active animals, consider visiting in the late afternoon or even doing a second drive-through as dusk approaches, when many animals become more active. This immersive experience truly makes you feel like you've been transported to the African savanna.
Beyond the Safari: The Walk-Through Park
The park also features rides suitable for various age groups, from a merry-go-round and mini-golf to larger attractions. It's designed to be a place where families can spend the entire day, with amenities like concessions and shaded seating areas. The water park, in particular, is a major draw on hot Florida days, offering a fun way to cool off. The inclusion of these diverse activities alongside the safari makes Lion Country Safari a comprehensive destination for animal lovers and families alike.
Conservation and Animal Welfare
While the park strives for naturalistic environments, some visitors have expressed disappointment when seeing lions confined, feeling it detracts from the 'wild' safari experience. However, the park's dedication to breeding programs and providing extensive space for its animals underscores a commitment to their long-term care and conservation efforts.
