What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Claystone Park is a highly-regarded destination, praised for its excellent disc golf course and beautiful lakefront setting. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff, clean facilities, and affordable camping options. Some minor issues include occasional dog owners disregarding beach rules, but overall, it's considered a 'hidden gem' for outdoor recreation.
"Staying at the campground. Awesome place! Nice Concrete pads on most sites. Several overlook the lake. Full hookup available. Shower house is okay. There is a washer and dryer available."
Jenifer Fosnaugh
"Love this park. Very quiet for the most part. Gets a little louder during holiday weekends but that's to be expected. The rangers, admin, and gate employees are always so so friendly.
One gripe, beach is dog friendly. I walk my dog here all the time and I am always very respectful of the no dog policy on the beach, BUT some pet parents do not see the sign or tend to ignore it."
Rachael Henry
"We booked a site with full hook-up for five nights and could not have been happier. It was a nice, level, concrete pull-through with lake views and our 37 foot Class A with TOAD was easy to navigate and fit the site perfectly. Claystone is a county park so in addition to the 45 or so campsites there is a swimming beach with playground and a disc golf course. We were visiting family but this campground is close enough to the highway (I-475, Macon bypass) for a quick overnight if youre traveling I-75. If you're staying awhile like us, groceries and restaurants are only a short drive away."
