Reviews Summary
Guests consistently praise The Brown Hotel for its exceptional historic charm, elegant ambiance, and warm, professional service that embodies Southern hospitality. The iconic Hot Brown sandwich is a highlight, though some find the restaurant menu less consistently tempting. Rooms are comfortable and spacious, reflecting the hotel's age with classic decor.
"We had a great time at the Brown Hotel this past weekend for Bourbon&Beyond. Location is great and close to the airport, expo center etc. but in the heart of downtown. We took advantage of the airport shuttle which was convenient.
Staff, especially door staff, exceptionally warm and friendly. Rooms are dated but that's to be expected with a historic hotel- still very comfortable. We loved the old world charm of the whole hotel. Glad we chose this hotel over other options in the area. Would stay here again!"

"If you're into classic, historic hotels, this is your place. The employees were gracious and the room was larger than you find today - old school. The location is on the edge of too far from where you want to be, but as a walker, I enjoyed the extra steps. The only disappointment was their restaurant menu. While The Brown is amazing, one (shouldn't) have one every day. We would have dined there more if the offerings were tempting."

"We had heard wonderful things about The Brown Hotel and chose it for a birthday celebration weekend—and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping back in time. The architecture and ambiance beautifully reflect the elegance of the early 1900s, and every detail was thoughtfully preserved.
But what truly made the stay unforgettable were the people. Every staff member—from valet to front desk—were incredibly professional, courteous and genuinely kind. We were constantly asked if we were enjoying our stay and it never felt forced—just sincere Southern hospitality at its finest.
They even coordinated a flower delivery to the room for the birthday girl, which was such a thoughtful touch. The room itself was stunning—elegant, comfortable and full of character. They even called to check in on us during our stay, which made us feel truly cared for.
If you’re looking for a hotel that blends historic charm with exceptional service, The Brown Hotel is it. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Louisville!"
