"One of Kauai’s best-kept secrets, known mostly to locals, is the Lumaha‘i Shoreline Beach — a stunning spot where freshwater meets the ocean. Unlike more tourist-heavy areas, you won’t find crowds here. You can take a dip in the cool, refreshing river, which might feel chilly at first but becomes comfortable after a few minutes. While the ocean is beautiful, I wouldn’t recommend swimming there — the surf is rough, and there are no lifeguards on duty. The natural beauty of this beach is mesmerizing, offering a peaceful escape surrounded by untouched Hawaiian earth and sea."

"Beautiful across the entire beach all expectations were met other than portable toilets or fresh water. On the left end of the beach the kids were in heaven enjoying the surf as it rolls along the rocks to the main beach. It was like a wave park they loved it!!!
The fresh water river coming in was like the lazy river wandering towards the ocean. Spectacular!!!"

"If you missed the window to reserve a Ke'e Beach day and/or don't feel like parking and shuttling out there, you can still drive right up to this absolutely gorgeous stretch of beach (made famous in the classic film South Pacific). No Napali Coast views like you have on Ke'e, but Lumaha'i is pristine, peaceful and reasonably isolated with cool north breezes."
