"Very positive experience. The ships come exactly as scheduled and depart as such. The ships are comfortable and safe. They take about 15-20 minutes each way, but some of the rides tour under the bridge and take a bit longer. However, the captain usually gives a brief history tour of the bridge and makes it interesting.
Round trip is $36 per ticket for adults. I DONT recommend buying tickets online as it’s a few more dollars expensive for no reason. The tickets never sold out during our stay, and lines were never unreasonable. Arnold offers a good service and a fun ride!"

Choosing Your Ferry Adventure
Consider your departure point and any specific amenities. For instance, some travelers prefer the convenience of parking directly at the ferry terminal, while others find more economical parking options at nearby hotels. It's also worth noting that while most rides are direct, some routes offer a scenic tour under the bridge, adding a unique perspective to your journey. Ultimately, the choice often comes down to personal preference and convenience, as both companies provide a reliable and enjoyable passage to this car-free paradise.
Pro-tip: If you're concerned about motion sickness, try to secure a seat mid-ship, as this area tends to experience less movement. Arriving at the terminal a bit earlier than your desired departure time can also help you snag a good spot and avoid any last-minute rushes.
Navigating the Ferry Terminal Experience
Parking is available at most terminals, though costs can vary. Some travelers recommend looking into parking at nearby hotels for potentially lower rates. Once you have your tickets, you'll proceed to the boarding area. The ferries are generally spacious and well-maintained, with comfortable seating both indoors and outdoors. Staff are usually on hand to assist with boarding, especially if you're bringing luggage or bicycles.
Key takeaway: Plan to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before your scheduled departure, particularly during peak season, to allow ample time for parking, ticket purchase, and boarding. This ensures a relaxed start to your island adventure.
