"long bike/ walking trail that’s shaded and peaceful. abita brewery and other stops along the way, turns south to fountain blue state park. there’s signs that say “no dogs” but what’s the harm if on leash? lots of random picnic tables and benches for those that need it."

"Tammany Trace runs through 5 St. Tammany Parish cities. You can enter the trace in each city if you would prefer not do the entire path. Entrances are at Covington, Abita Springs (center), Mandeville Trailhead, Lacombe or Slidell. Its great for a walking path as well as outdoor cycling amd rollerblading. I enjoy it when I use it. It's free to the community and has a lot of beauty to it . All visitors are respectiful as well when passing. Abita springs and Mandeville are the heart of the trail and both offer outdoor water fountains for breaks as well as the best views on the path. 🌟"
