What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Miami Beach receives mixed reviews, with many praising its iconic Art Deco architecture, vibrant atmosphere, and beautiful shoreline. Lifeguards are often commended for their professionalism and dedication to safety. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the training and attentiveness of certain lifeguards, as well as issues with seaweed during bloom periods.
"Sorry, but what I just witnessed at 41st St. was totally disappointing. July 31, 2025. A man victim of a drowning. Taken out by the lifeguards and just getting compressions at the chest.
Since I am a certified life guard with more than a decade of certification and many rescues performed, I approached and tried to help by correcting the guy on the procedure. Not even one rescue breath was performed. Water coming out of his mouth. He’s more exposed to death by lack of oxygen than a cardiac arrest. And even when they had me there trying to help them, but not getting on the way, I was not paid attention. If that man dies today, it is because of lack of training by hiring unprofessional people. Then he was transferred to the ambulance on a cart., still getting chest compressions in a very savage way. I’m pretty sure that you’re gonna find damage on his body due to that.
But they really know how to bother unnecessarily with the FOX 40 to people that are in the shallow and having a lot of range to play with by the time of swimming. Because the only thing they want and I’m talking about these lifeguards is to be noticed. BAYWATCH. What a shame!"

"If you are in South Beach do not depend on the life guards there. They do nothing, but eat, drink and talk on the phone. So sad that we, tax payers, receive such poor service. I come here only for work and enjoy a few extra days at the beach when In Miami and the experience is always the same. I have even seen women go in their towers - God knows what goes on. Very dissappointed to say the least."
