Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Shu Swamp Preserve for its tranquil atmosphere, well-maintained trails with boardwalks, and abundant natural beauty, including streams and diverse wildlife. While generally enjoyable, some note that certain sections can be muddy and recommend appropriate footwear. The preserve is seen as a peaceful escape, though some find it can get busy with families and dogs.
"The entrance is a bit hidden, but they have good parking. The riverbank looked clean, and we were able to observe different kinds of birds, squirrels, frogs, and various insects. The walking paths are well-maintained; you have to pay attention to the location signs because it's easy to lose sight of them. It's ideal for walking, but I wouldn't recommend it for people with knee problems or mobility issues; there are some hills to climb."

"Free trial! It's super fun! there were a few dogs here and a lot of kids yelling today. There are lots of little rivers and streams. There's little board walks and it's basically a circle. At the midpoint or the farthest point from the parking lot, there's a nice little boardwalk with a lake. It's really nice..I do recommend bug spray!! It's a quiet place and it's not busy which is even better! I don't see any wildlife, but there were a lot of children
I don't think dogs are allowed"

"Our hiking group enjoyed the trails. A thick coat of mulch covered the walking area of the trail, and the bridges ensured dry feet. In a few places, there were roots that needed to be navagated. For the most part the trail is level and we did come across a portable bathroom. The parking lot is large and well maintained."
