What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for the Morris County Courthouse are highly polarized. While some visitors report positive experiences with helpful staff, many others express significant dissatisfaction with long delays, perceived unprofessionalism, and the building's condition. The court's efficiency and fairness in handling cases are frequent points of contention.
"Zero stars if I could. My super simple, no-asset divorce dragged on for 3 years. I kept paying and got nowhere—slow, careless, and totally apathetic. All on taxpayers’ dime. The building’s filthy (bathrooms are gross). This place makes you lose faith in marriage and the system. Young guys should sit through a few cases here and rethink tying the knot. Unreal."

"The building is fine. Not enough tables or rooms for “moderation”. It’s just sitting in a hallway in front of anyone/everyone. Sally the court moderator was unprofessional and lacked knowledgeable information. She seemed young, fresh out of school, and inexperienced. She would greet and speak to passing colleagues while I was explaining important information regarding my case. Then ask me to repeat myself. She was very rude. She didn’t know what “double damages” was in tenant landlord law. She constantly tried to have me believe I was wrong when I was correct. She constantly pressured me to settle my lawsuit for terms that were less than fair. She should be fired. Thankfully I consistently ignored her and her terrible advice/pressure and was able to “settle” for +$1000 more than the original offer. They’re terribly “backlogged” and it seems like they really pressure everyone to “settle” so the judges don’t have to do their jobs. Don’t let them pressure you to settle if it’s not a good deal. Be willing to spend 6 hours at court and take it to the judge. Judge seemed good… just overwhelmed and over burdened."

"I see a lot of bad reviews here but honestly my experience was good. I was here for a landlord/tenant thing. The staff I dealt with were approachable, friendly and efficient despite a lot going on. The building does not have enough space though."
