"My family and I visited Topgolf in Naperville, Illinois, on November 5, 2025, to celebrate my son’s birthday. Due to severe allergies, I brought my own hot tea in a Brümate cup. A security guard informed me that I needed to return it to my car, which I understood. However, shortly afterward, the manager, Ben, approached me in an aggressive and hostile manner. He was loud, disrespectful, and dismissive throughout the interaction.
I explained my medical needs and showed him my EpiPens and Benadryl to confirm the seriousness of my condition. Despite this, he stated that there were no exceptions and appeared indifferent to my health concerns. As someone who lives with severe allergies, I am aware that reasonable accommodations can be made in situations like this.
I believe Ben would benefit from additional training—particularly on how to interact respectfully with guests and how to properly address individuals with medical needs. Unfortunately, the encounter overshadowed what should have been a joyful celebration and ultimately ruined my son’s birthday."
