What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Point Judith Lighthouse for its scenic beauty, historical significance, and excellent surfing conditions. The opportunity to watch waves, especially during storms, and the potential for stunning sunrise/sunset photography are frequently highlighted. Some note that parking can be limited and interior access to the lighthouse is prohibited.
"We love to visit lighthouses whenever we travel. The pros of this one are that the scenery is breathtaking, amd there's a lovely memorial area with benches to sit and watch the ocean. The biggest con is that you can't actually go to the lighthouse. I read reviews before we went, and I don't recall that part. Apparently you used to be able to go up to the lighthouse, but the Coast Guard took over its maintenance a few years ago, so now it's fenced off, which was disappointing."

"This is the lighthouse at Pt Judith and also the Coast Gaurd station. Great surfing location and fun to come here and watch the waves during storms. The parking is more limited now as they seemed to have closed the upper lot. Really nice to stop here on the bike tour and take pictures. You can see block island on a nice day."

This place , apart from it's historic importance offers a lovely spot for surfing. You have unobstructed view of the ocean and surfers while while sitting on the benches along the coast.
