Spooky season is here! And your’s will not be complete without visiting the Natchez City Cemetery. Not only is it breathtaking but two icons reside here🖤 Florence Irene Ford died of yellow fever at age ten. She was very afraid of storms so her mother has steps and a window built so that she may comfort Florence during bad weather. The window was eventually closed up but the steps remain. People ...

Reviews Summary

Visitors find Natchez City Cemetery a beautiful and historically rich site, particularly appreciating its unique and unusual graves. While some note the navigation can be tricky, the audio tour is highly recommended for uncovering fascinating stories. Special events like 'Angels on the Bluff' are a major draw, though they sell out quickly.

"Interesting cemetery with historic cisterns, water fountain, and notable graves including Florence Ford, the Lee family, Don Jose Vidal and victims of the Rhythm Nightclub tragedy. Represented are a variety of architectural styles including one cast iron tomb."

Nora Goddard

"I'm glad that I was only visiting! We first walked around aimlessly with a simple map. After realizing that this might be a bit more interesting than expected, we paid for the audio tour. The tour provided some history of the city and stories of some of the people buried there. Marker 13 has to be one of the strangest stories that I have heard. I would recommend the audio tour, but I think that it would be more interesting to walk if the weather allows."

Dan Dieterich

"Beautiful cemetery, but fairly odd to navigate through. Google Maps isn't correct with roads and paths. One way streets that you don't know are one way until you're at the end or at an intersection of the road.
I'll be back when I have more time to spend and enjoy it more."
