What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
CTfastrak is praised for its speed, frequency, and affordability, offering a transit experience akin to a subway. Riders appreciate the clean stations, onboard Wi-Fi, and convenient connections. However, some users have encountered issues with inaccurate schedules and occasional driver rudeness.
"Love it. Make sure you always have a good non-expired ticket. Seen people get $75 tickets, fare inspectors get on the bus at random stops, but they're usully(most of the time) at nb downtown and Flatbush station. Get on bus, check everyone's ticket and if it's expired they make u get off the bus and wait an hour till state trooper comes to write the ticket. The bus is so fast if you miss a bus another bus is there on 3-7mimutes. Takes little less than 30mins from downtown to downtown (Hartford & new britain).. good stops to get on different bus. Love fasttrak"

"Fast, clean, quiet, hassle-free transit between downtown New Britain, downtown Hartford, and points between. These buses run every 7-8 minutes during rush hour and 10-12 minutes most of the rest of the day. It's a bus system that operates like a subway. Wi-fi on the buses. And the fare is cheap -- $1.50 full-price for adults, and you can get a free transfer good for 2-hour unlimited access to other buses (including a return trip!)Ten-trip tickets, which you can order on-line, make the adult fare a mere $1.35 (you don't even have to pay for postage).
The New Britain station -- like all of the Fastrak stations -- is clean, comfortable, well designed, and safe. An easy walk to restaurants, the public library, a nice park, and the wonderful New Britain Museum of American Art. The City of New Britain is doing a good job of encouraging development around the already well-situated station.
People who bad-mouth the Fastrak system have never used it and are merely engaging in some sort of anti-government, anti-transit, anti-social, or anti-environmental rant. Ignore 'em."

"They have the wrong times from the schedules online and some of the drivers are VERY rude. If it weren't for that I'd give it a 5 star but having the wrong scheduled times is very inconvenient. Drivers don't even know what they're talking about half the time."
