"This is a very interesting place as is the whole island (Staten Island) . It's not very big or busy like Brooklyn beaches but I wouldn't have it any other way. You'll need to bring your own food & drinks. Yes it's littered and dirty from the storms, covid-19 and all that. A senior informed me that a lot of the strange rocks pieces of cups and such are from ways back the island in the 1900s was dotted with hotels resorts piers and amusement parks, over time things burned down fell in disarray or were simply taken down. New Dorp bech is right next to Gateway National Recreation area. I walked from this Beach all the way to Oakwood beach I passed thru cedar ⛱ and another unnamed place that was isolated and then on to other isolated beaches until I got to Oakwood. If you come please leave no trace. Yes its past time for a beach cleaning #4oceans, #surfrider, #nycparks clean-up"
