Where in Dallas can I find a seclusive spot to space out and contemplating on life?
I moved here from a small town, and I feel like my mind is getting over stimulated all the time. SO MUCH HUMAN everywhere. Is there any place in greater Dallas areas I can head to? Somewhere outside, like a woods or something to pour myself a cup of drink and just chill and do…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Cedar Hill Cemetery is recognized for its historical significance and beautiful, albeit sometimes neglected, grounds. While many appreciate its serene atmosphere and architectural features, recent management changes have led to significant controversy regarding decoration policies and maintenance, causing distress for some families.
"Beautiful old cemetery that could be kept up a bit better, there was some trash and a lot of grass clippings covering headstones, some of the monuments are up into tree limbs while others aren't in place or have fallen over. Other than the visible neglect, it is a beautiful old cemetery to walk around."

"CAUTION
DO NOT CONSIDER PURCHASING GRAVE SITES FROM CEDAR HILL CEMETERY.
The cemetery has been in Central Ohio news for 2 months, and social media.
The community is outraged at the change in tradition after 89 years, New management has forced parents of children to strip their graves of any ornaments around the monuments, as well as other grieving families
For those that could not afford a headstone, they have now been told their babies need to lay in an unmarked grave
Decorations signifying their resting place during the warm months have been prohibited.
.
Further community scandals include...
-desecration of the American flag, which were found in trash barrels and in the dirt and exposed on local media .
-People's ornaments stolen andfound in the dumpster, after the cemetery denied knowing what happened to them,
- Foot high grass and weeds overgrowing
monuments on Mother's Day.
- families being made promises that if they
buy a lot, they can decorate as has been
for the last half century at least.
And now, suddenly being told by new
management that anything found around a
grave monument will be thrown away
without notice.
- the new superintendent has been
accused by citizens of Newark of lying to
both them directly and city council, in an
attempt to conceal misdeeds. Video on

This cemetery has no problem, and has exhibited, changing rules on consumers after decades simply on a whim.
Justifications for drastic changes to grave sites have been proven false.
The people that have already made the mistake of burying their loved ones here, are speaking about lawsuits to have their family members moved to a cemetery that practices respect for the dead, and the living.
People were crying as they were forced to strip the graves of their children and family members of ornamentation, borders, and solar lights.
Claims of maintenance issues were proven false by the public after providing the cemetery with solutions.
Cemetery management and the mayor of Newark would not respond to the outrage;
Citizens have commented that they would not bury their dog in that cemetery, now that it has become a place of desecration and disrespect.
Buyer remorse is ever present due to new management feeling that they can dictate how people should grieve after 89 years of tradition.
1,3, or 5 years from now, your loved ones resting place can be ordered to be changed at the whim of cemetery management.
A stone and a live flower. The only two items you can sit on the summer ground at Cedar Hill cemetery.
Mother's Day at Cedar Hill cemetery was a disgrace. Hundreds of people expressing shock and anger at the overgrown, unkept condition this management allowed on a heartfelt day of grieving.
There are other fine cemeteries in this area that have kept a consistent culture since their beginning.
Please consider them for your loved ones.
Cedar Hill has ordered graves to be stripped of mementos that show people come and actively grieve, after a half century of selling plots based on a warm, respectable environment, and the ability to leave a. Pinwheel or pooh statue for a child.
This is all been taken away by the first management in 89 years that was arrogant enough to think they can inflict their will on sacred burial sites.
If you want peace after finding your family member a resting place, stay away from this struggling, inadequate operation.

"Things seemed to be fine until the new superintendent was hired and no decorations were permitted. And apparently no mowing or weeding was permitted by the grounds staff. I wish I would have chosen a different cemetery for my loved ones but I was going on the information provided when the plots were purchased"
