"I attended a special event at the Mansion with Geoffrey Baer for WTTW. The place is very cool. Some of the rooms have been restored to their original furnishings and some are bare. The library, chapel, and hidden staircase are highlights of the mansion. The weather was not good for outdoor activities on the day of my visit, but the grounds are nice and would make a great place for a walk on a nice day."

"We started on a trail near the Mayslake dog park and ended up on a gorgeous adventure through the area around the Peabody estate. There is a serene pond with weeping willows on the banks, a historic garden just starting to come back to life, a famous carving with amazing detail, and a unique little chapel with fascinating decoration. It's a perfect way to spend a spring morning (or afternoon). See photos for scenes of everything I mentioned here, but there is more to see than just this. The Peabody mansion itself is undergoing a renovation, but that is slated for completion this summer (2023). I, for one, am very much looking forward to going back and seeing the finished product!"
