Good morning from Willamette falls 🌊
Anyone heard anything more about the supposed demolition of that old paper plant and building some kind of Bridgeport-y thing there? It's such a shame that there's not even really any hiking trails or anything to really enjoy this natural wonder.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Willamette Falls to be an interesting site, particularly for its dramatic industrial history juxtaposed with natural beauty. While the falls themselves are impressive, direct access can be limited, leading many to recommend riverboat tours for the best experience. The Willamette Falls Trail offers a pleasant walk with good views, though some note the area's complex environmental past.
"What a superfund nightmare. A dam built on top of the falls and surrounded by pulp mills. PCBs, dioxins, mercury and combined sewer overflows. It is interesting as an industrial site but a shame as a natural feature. If you liked the river in Cleveland on fire you should love this place."
J Prall
"Well unless you are lucky enough (?) to work at the paper mill by the falls it's difficult to see them in all their majesty as they are only really accessible from the river.
We took a boat trip with Portland River Tours, for a generous two hours. It really is the best way to see them, and all the thundering water coming over them.
If you pick your time of year (mid April for us) then you will likely see sea lions catching salmon, or trying to, in the white water below."
Adrian Wadley
"A juxtaposition of human technology pasted on top of natures beauty, followed technology’s decay and questions of what will happen next."
