Reviews Summary
Ouray is celebrated for its stunning natural beauty, particularly Box Canyon Falls and the dramatic Million Dollar Highway. Visitors appreciate the charming historic downtown and relaxing hot springs. However, some reviews mention a less-than-friendly reception from locals, though others praise the town's hospitality.
"Stayed at The Immogene in the heart of downtown. The rooms are updated and modern. They have a beautiful lobby with a semi-private bar and a rooftop bar that is cozy and warm. I would suggest coming into town from Durango and Silverton....unless you have a big camper! Hairpin turns and some of the most beautiful views! The town is in a valley, and there is a huge waterfall that cascades down into the valley and to a river that runs through it. There is a small park at the base of the falls that is worth finding. Also, from what we heard, a lot of True Grit with John Wayne was filmed here. An hour away from Black Canyon of the Gunnison, one of my favorite National Parks!"
