Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning 12-mile hike to Rainbow Hot Springs, highlighting its scenic beauty, waterfalls, and wildlife. While the natural springs are rustic and contain algae, they offer a rewarding soak after the challenging trek. The hike is consistently praised as the main attraction, with many recommending it for adventurous travelers. Reddit

"Fantastic hike, but be warned: It is 12 miles roundtrip. 6 miles one-way. I've seen so many places claim that it is 4 or 4.5 miles one way and that is just not true.

Absolutely beautiful hike, the hot springs were nice. Filled with algae, silt, etc. but that's common for natural hot springs. There are some great camping spots near the springs/ river. Being able to hike far above the river and then right next to it, with dozens of little waterfalls along the way. Chef's kiss.

Cannot overstate that despite what Alltrails used to say and what Uncover Colorado says, this is 12 mile hike"

Ryan Wall

"One of our favorite hikes in the West Fork area. We highly recommend this hike if you are up for 10 miles of gorgeous terrain and a trail along the river where you can see for miles on end.
The hot springs can be found at camp site #8 near the rivers edge as well as camp site #1.
Bring plenty of water and be on the lookout for wildlife!"

Gina T.

"Be prepared for sudden weather changes, as mountain tops are unpredictable. If your not acclamated to the elevation the hike in can be very difficult as you climb over 1k feet. The way back is mostly descending. The pools are nice and warm. The views are spectacular. You might see horses, mules, deer, black bears etc... as this trail connects to a whole backcountry system."
