What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Cahuilla Hills Park is a beloved local spot offering beautiful desert hiking with rewarding views, particularly from the cross summit. Visitors appreciate the well-maintained trails and the opportunity for birdwatching. However, parking can be limited, and the desert heat requires careful planning, especially during warmer months.
"This is a steep hike, and the top of this hike provides a beautiful sunrise view of the valley. It takes about an hour round trip to the cross and back. The trails are clean. Some people take dogs, but I've seen mostly really well trained dogs that don't need to be on leash.
There is some parking, but in cooler seasons it fills up quickly."

"We didn’t know what to expect of palm desert as it was just the location of our hotel on a road trip through, but wow the scenery here was lovely and we took some time to explore this local hiking park area. Definitely come early in the hot season and bring water and good shoes. Great trail system. The map at the front isn’t great but all trails helps.
Parking is easy but not a ton of if."
Kelly Marin
"Nice hiking trails did two different hikes up to the Cross the first time, then all the way to the Bump and Grind trail to the top. That was close to 2 1/2 hours and we took the short cut thru the wash back. Overall elevation gain was close to 1,000 feet."
