"The show that almost wasn't.
We're in Palm Springs to see David Sedaris. We roll up to the theatre and there's a line of 100 people deep waiting to get in. We have reserved seats through Ticketmaster. The line moves at a snails pace as we bake in 95° heat in full sun and me in a suit. My wife, of course, is dressed very appropriately for desert weather. We get close to the door. It's 2:15 and the show was supposed to start at 2:00. A man with a bullhorn comes outside. "Ladies and gentlemen, Ticketmaster screwed up and mislabeled our seating chart. Rest assured if you bought a ticket, you are getting in.". We get to the door to go in, a man says your seats are not available, you can't sit together. Deal breaker, they offer to give a refund. I'm filling out something for the refund when the miracle happens and there are two seats together. We're seated, David comes on in pantaloons, he was delightful. Cozy theater with comfortable seats. Will bring sunscreen next time."

"The closing movie was exceptional. A remake of Nightmare Alley featured stellar performances byBradly Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Willem Defoe, and Ron Perlman and Mary Steenberger, among others. Director Guillermo Del Toro and wife were there to discuss their vision for this remake before the show. This was a premiere viewing of the Director’s cut all in black and white that Guillermo was proud to finally release. Theatre was comfortable and it was nice too see the film on the big screen with such an appreciative audience."

"Don't go looking for the Camelot Theatre....it is now called the Palm Springs Culture Center.
Tonight is a lecture. However, there are movies, concerts, and film festivals held here.
The mural area and stairs lead to a second floor where we have cocktail parties and catered events.
It is a great asset to our community. For example the American Documentary Film Festival entire event is held there"
