"If you're staying at the Sheraton you might as well take advantage of Marsh and the trail that goes around the back. I'm super glad I found this trail to go on walks instead of circling the parking lot."
Rudy Ornelas
"This trail is closed. It’s a huge bummer. I was looking foward to walking it. We will try again another time"
Casey Monahan
"We visited this marshland during a low tide. While the trail is clean, the low tide exposed human trash embedded in the mud. Their webpages mentioned a host of wildlife. In addition, dogs on leash are allowed in the marsh. That's why we chose to explore it. However, we didn't see much, except for a snowy egret searching for food in the mud. There are bushes along the trail but no tall tree. We saw and heard the sparrows, and probably other song birds in the bushes. Bring a hat and a bottle of water for your walk."

Navigating the Trails and Conditions
When planning your visit, consider the tide. While low tide can reveal trash embedded in the mud, it also presents opportunities to spot wading birds like snowy egrets foraging in the exposed areas. This makes understanding the tidal patterns potentially beneficial for wildlife enthusiasts. The area is also noted for having bushes rather than tall trees, so expect songbirds and smaller avian species.
Wildlife and Best Viewing Times
While the marsh is described as having a host of wildlife on its webpages, actual sightings can vary. Mornings might offer better opportunities for observing active birdlife as they forage. Remember to bring binoculars if you're keen on getting a closer look at the avian inhabitants. The presence of dogs on leashes is allowed, so keep this in mind if you're hoping for a quiet birdwatching experience.
