Slowing down this season with a holiday hike up Humbug Mountain. It was worth the elevation to see the ocean and Port Orford from so high up! This steep hike up the mountain that separates Port Orford and Gold Beach crosses several creeks, a few waterfalls, and has you climb above the tree tops, you can’t miss it! #humbuh #bahhumbug #christmas #holidayhike #oregon #portorford #pnw #hike #mountain...

Reviews Summary

Humbug Mountain State Park is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and unique warmer microclimate. Campers enjoy the summit hike and beach access, though some find campsites to be too close together and can experience road noise. Despite minor drawbacks, the park offers a well-maintained and scenic coastal experience.

"I was so surprised by this campground! It is very well kept! The camp sites are a little smaller than I'm used to in a state park. Not much privacy either... You have to have your camp set up perfectly to have that. There is road noise, but if you're like me and love white noise at night, it's not a huge problem. There is also a creek behind some of the campsites and you can hear it at night. It's so lovely. I recommend getting a site on the first loop (1-27) there is way less people and closer to the bathrooms/showers. Gorgeous views and easy walk to the beach. I was at the upper loop, so prepare for a long walk down there but it really had everything you need: mountains and the beach? Oh yes!"

"Absolutely beautiful, even the drive here was breathtaking. !!!
The kids enjoyed the open field area in middle of camp, it's very large enough for all of the kids. Large enough to play baseball, throw frisbees, throw footballs.
Kids can safely and freely ride bikes around this campground. The warmest it gets is in the low 70s.
It's, that's a fairly cold bring lots and lots of warm clothes. Especially for the kids at night.
If you are wanting a quiet place, this certainly is not it.
The only things that I can say I as an adult did not enjoy,.... the campsites are on top of each other, there's not very much space. Between the person next to you, it will feel like you are camping with them. You're so close.
There are a few spots that are not like that. Not many.
Lots of people come in all night all hours and start setting up camp and the noise of that in the middle of the night. It can be frustrating.
However, overall, it was nice."

"What a wonderful park we really enjoyed it. You do need to book on-line but at the camp host site there is wifi that you can sign into and make your reservation.
The sites were very shady so we chose an electric site. This is a beautiful campground. We walked under the bridge to the beach for sunset, loved it."
