Port Orford Heads State Park in Port Orford, Oregon, has an easy 1-mile hiking trail with some viewpoints that will knock your socks off. Visiting is free. On a beautiful day I was one of about three people on the trail. Of all the weird coincidences, one of them was a lovely woman named Nellie I met at the Nellie’s Cove Viewpoint. #oregoncoast #nelliescove #portorfordoregon #oregonhikes

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Port Orford Heads State Park for its breathtaking coastal views and free access. The historic Lifeboat Station Museum is a unique draw, offering a glimpse into maritime history. While the park is beautiful, some reviewers note that trail markings could be improved, and restroom maintenance can be inconsistent.

"Really pretty and fun little trail, with some hidden community trails that can lead you down further. We chilled for a little while and just watched the waves crash into the rocks and shore. Highly recommend! Very little effort for big rewards"

Kevin Simmons

"This is a gorgeous park/beach. There is a nice paved, good sized parking lot that is free. There are nice bathrooms by the parking lot. You can pull in and just enjoy the gorgeous view, or you can walk down to the beach. The walk down to the beach is family friendly for children, but would not be good for wheel chairs. There is a fun sea stack you can climb up, reachable from the beach most of the time. (Tide dependant) The beach is beautiful and there is also a grassy area up at the top, though it is wild grass and not a mown lawn. The parking area is right off the highway and easy to access. It would be a shame to not stop and at least enjoy the view from the parking lot."
