Have you been to Great Falls Park in Virginia? There are 3 overlooks with views of the rushing waters of the Potomac River. This view is from a rocky view right by the parking lot. Travel a bit farther and you’ll find an accessible view. Parking at Great Falls is $20/ vehicle or you can hike in from Riverbend Park (that’s what we did) It’s a 3.5 mi out and back. #greatfalls #potomacriver #vir...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Watts Branch Stream Valley Park for its peaceful, undeveloped natural beauty and the solitude it offers. It's a hidden gem for those seeking a quiet escape into woods and along a stream, with lovely wildflowers and pond wildlife. However, some note its lack of maintenance and facilities, and the need for caution during hunting season.

"Nice park.It is undeveloped for recreation, so it feels like you are walking in the woods all alone away from populated areas. I went on footpaths to the stream had a dip and then tromped around some more. Full of gorgeous wildflowers. There is archery hunting here in the fall, so where bright colors for safety."

Neka Zimmerman

"I love this little park, it's quite long and peaceful. You can always hear the birds and bugs making summer noises (during summer, of course) and in the winter, you get the greatest pieces of snow covered land in the whole neighborhood. The absolute best part is the fact that very few people come here, so it is very nice to walk and have a relaxing time enjoying the scenery. The pond in the middle makes for awesome findings in the summer (ducks, geese, a couple of cranes frequent it, frogs, etc.). It's lovely for long, relaxed walks, and runs (if you like to run) without much interruptions."

"This greenbelt area is great and could be such an asset to the county. But they ignore it. Oh, except for the bow hunting season on deer. I have ridden a bike from the millenium rail to the canal (except for a small piece by the treatment plant). It was neglected, overgrown etc. With very little maintenance it could provide direct access between those trails and all the residential areas between them and allow riders and hikers to avoid narrow traffic arteries like falls rd."
