What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lake Minnequa Open Space is appreciated for its accessible lake loop trail and unique children's playground, offering a good urban green space for recreation. However, some visitors note concerns about park upkeep, including cleanliness and muddy conditions on the trails, suggesting a need for caution and appropriate gear.
"Soft grass was found near the white canopy, but under the canopy itself there was too much goose poo to even cross the concrete without getting it on your shoes. Great sidewalks, with a nice view of the lake."
Amanda Kay
"This is a nice little park for the city. The south end is mostly just a huge green space, meant for field games. But you can also do a ~2 mile loop around the lake itself on a wide and mostly flat dirt trail that is very well built and cared for. If you start at the south end, it does take a little while to get to the actual lake, and I would definitely keep to the trail as the land is pretty marshy with a lot of wet spots (at least in the spring). There were a lot of dog walkers and fishermen, all pretty friendly. You can access the loop trail from the surface streets on pretty much all sides as well.
The north side also has two playgrounds. One is your standard tower and slide monstrosity, and the other is an awesome kid-sized American Ninja Warrior ropes course."

"I Iove this park , but its really disgusting and full of needles, trash, and other items I would not want any children or adults around. it such a nice spot when its upkept."
