What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Franklin Park is lauded as a top-tier recreational space with diverse activities, from scenic hiking and sports facilities to family-friendly amenities and the captivating 'Boston Lights' event. Visitors appreciate the ample parking and dog-friendly environment, though some note inconsistent signage and limited on-site food options.
"Best pool day ever. Very well laid out space. I was able to navigate with 4 kids. Definitely plan to pack lunch. Concessions doesn't have much. But I prefer it that way! Great Public pool!!"

"One of the best parks in Loudoun. It’s now much easier to get to from points east with the various construction and engineering projects they’ve done along Route 7 and such. Located just a bit outside of Purcellville, the park offers trails, fishing, an excellent disc golf course that’s around 2 miles walking, several other sporting areas like the tennis/pickle ball courts, hockey rink, pool, baseball/softball fields, soccer/lacrosse fields, and horseshoes, several pavilions throughout, equestrian paths, and the Franklin Park Arts Center, which was home to the first East Coast Bob Ross art exhibit/display. One can spend a few hours or a day here with the various activities. One should note that the sun can be pretty brutal during the summer, and the wind really comes through there like the prairie, which might be alright in the summer, it’s like a Midwestern winter come change of seasons. I really wish Northern Virginia had more parks like this, and would really recommend visiting."

"Lots of parking. Really poor signage (never did find the pedestrian hiking trail). Appreciated that someone had come to turn the porta-potties right-side up after the heavy winds. Plenty of benches and tables. Kids enjoyed spotting lots of turtles and birds. Nice to see the park being enjoyed by others (picnicking, fishing, playground, pick-up sports, etc.). Happy to have a dog-friendly place we can be outside and explore."
